As learning professionals, we want to help the organization optimize performance through enhanced learning opportunities and skill development. We believe our ideas are future forward thinking and should be embraced by all. However, our innovative concepts are not always met with the same enthusiasm and excitement from others as we had hoped. Often times, learning professionals are faced with roadblocks that attempt to stop the change from happening. The truth is our current environments demand constant change resulting in individuals experiencing change overloaded and change fatigue.
Many people do not understand why they must change and therefore resist being changed. They would prefer maintaining status quo over learning a new skill. So how can we gain their commitment?
