Allan is a leading workplace learning measurement and evaluation expert. As Co-Director of the Investing in People® project, he helped design, develop, and execute the 3-year national evaluation research study. His professional focus is helping organizations to align training with business outcomes and maximize the effectiveness, business impact, and ROI of their learning investments. Allan provides evaluation services to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and for more than a decade has consulted to Harvard Business Publishing helping to develop robust evaluation and testing strategies for HBP’s popular suite of online learning products—Harvard ManageMentor. Clients also have included: CIBC, BDC, WestJet, OLG, Scotiabank, Petro-Canada, Logitech, and ArcelorMittal, Canada Food Inspection Agency, Canada Revenue Agency. Allan authored many research studies investigating the connections between employer investments in training and resulting impacts on job performance, business outcomes and the economy.
