Saul Carliner, PhD, CTDP, is a Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Education at Concordia University in Montreal. His research focuses on the design of materials for training and communication, and the management of groups that produce these materials.
Also an industry consultant, he has provided strategic guidance and workshops to organizations such as Alltel Wireless, Boston Scientific, Bronx Zoo, PwC, ST Microelectronics, Turkish Management Centre and several US and Canadian government agencies. Among his 200 publications are Training Design Basics (2nd ed), Informal Learning Basics, and the upcoming An Overview of Training and Development. He is a Fellow and past board member of the Institute for Performance and Learning, and a Fellow and past international president of the Society for Technical Communication.
